Strickland Engineering was the MPE and Civil Engineering Consultant and Land Surveyor for this new regional high school campus for the Saxony Lutheran Schools located in Cape Girardeau County south of the intersection of I-55 and Highway 61 at Fruitland, Missouri.

The campus includes sitework for the building, parking areas, and sports complex for baseball, softball, soccer, and track. The campus also required a wastewater treatment system including a grinder pump station, force main, and three cell lagoon. The building includes classrooms, office suite, library, science and computer labs, kitchen, chapel/commons area, full gymnasium and locker room facilities. The building is designed for future additions onto each wing and to the rear of the building for expansion as the high school population continues to grow.

The MPE system design for this project includes an energy management system, rooftop HVAC units with integral energy recovery, domestic water pressure boosting system, security system, intercom and sound systems, and fire alarm system. Each classroom features an indirect fluorescent lighting system and rough-in for future Smart-Board systems.

Strickland Engineering was honored with receiving two Section Awards for their entry of Saxony Lutheran High School from the St. Louis Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America: The Paul Waterbury Award For Outdoor Lighting Design and The Edwin F Guth Memorial Award For Interior Lighting Design.
